Titan O340 Ring Gear Spacer with Timing Marks
Titan O340 Ring Gear Spacer with Timing Marks
Alaska Inspired, Colorado Designed
Frank Knapp and Lil' Cub inspired countless Cub builders over the years and we here at Colorado Cub are no exception. Lil' Cub pushed the boundaries of what people believed possible or practical, however we all agree with the Lil' Cub's basic premise: Lighter is better.
The quickest way to drop 50 pounds off the nose of your Cub is also very simple: remove the heavy starter, ring gear, and high amp alternator.
Yes, hand propping your airplane might feel intimidating, however it can be done safely with proper training and protocols. No titanium, no carbon fiber, no exotic materials needed!
Simple Design
Cub props such as the lightweight Catto composite prop require a 7" backing plate. This backing plate is intended to be sandwiched between the prop and ring gear and provides support to the entire prop hub.
The Colorado Cub ring gear spacer provides the 7" backing plate as well as compensates for the thickness of the ring gear when removed. Our ring gear spacer also provides the timing marks most commonly found machined into the back of the ring gear.
